AWARDS AND RECOGNITIONS HEADING INTO CHRISTMAS AT CANTINE FLORIO

Christmas comes early at Cantine Florio: numerous awards and accolades have been achieved by our wines in recent months.

Starting with the Marsala Florio Vergine Riserva 2011, which has gained significant visibility in major Italian and international guides. Among the most prestigious recognitions received, in addition to the Tre Bicchieri (Three Glasses) award, the Gambero Rosso editorial team has decided to confer upon it the Special Wine for Meditation of the Year award.

Marsala Vergine Riserva 2011 has also been awarded the 4 Vines, the highest recognition in the Vitae 2024 Guide – The Wine Guide, published by the Italian Sommelier Association. The collaboration with AIS (Italian Sommelier Association) was a prestigious and important one, seeing as in September Cantine Florio was also chosen as the venue for the 2023 AIS National Council.

Another strong relationship exists with another industry association, FISAR, which has dedicated numerous articles and insights entirely to Marsala Florio and the DOC Marsala Consortium in the Special Issue of FISAR‘s official magazine “The Sommelier.”

The Slow Wine guide “Vines, Vineyard, Wines of Italy – 2024”, published by Slow Food, has bestowed another important recognition on Marsala Florio:
Marsala Superiore Riserva Semisecco 2008 – Top Wine.

The “Top Wine” label indicates a wine that, in addition to having excellent organoleptic quality, manages to encapsulate in each glass the character of a territory, history, and environment. Slow wines also meet the criterion of a good balance between quality and price, in relation to when and where they’ve been produced.

There has also been significant international press coverage, with mentions of Florio in various publications. In Germany, Ilka Lindemann selected Vino Florio among her 6 recommended labels in the latest issue of Meininger WeinWelt, with a score of 93 points. In the UK, the Marsala Superiore Riserva Semisecco – SR0301 2001 was chosen among the best tastings in the Decanter Fine Wine Encounter’s Cellar Collection on the renowned Decanter.com website. Journalist Clive Pursehouse (Decanter’s US Editor) selected it and awarded it a score of 96/100.

These results are tangible proof of the consistent and dedicated work carried out by Cantine Florio over the years to promote the quality and excellence of Marsala throughout Italy and around the world.
